This study examined the in vitro antibacterial activity of ethanolic root extract from Fibraurea tinctoria Lour. against two clinically relevant diabetic wound pathogens, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Using a Completely Randomized Design, the extract was tested at concentrations of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10% via the disk diffusion method, and the resulting data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. A concentration-dependent inhibition of S. aureus growth was observed (p < 0.001), reaching its peak at 10% (13.67 ± 0.82 mm), while P. aeruginosa showed no measurable susceptibility at any concentration tested. Taken together, these results point to a selective antibacterial effect of F. tinctoria root extract against Gram-positive bacteria, positioning it as a promising candidate for further exploration as a natural antibacterial agent in the management of diabetic wound infections.
